Namaz

namaz

Namaz, also known as Salah, is a five-times-daily obligatory prayer performed by a true Muslim. The word salah comes from the arabic word ṣalat, the regular ritual prayer ordered upon all Muslims as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. The prayer is the pillar of religion. The Namaz is performed in the early morning, afternoon, evening, close to sunset, and late evening. Prayers are always offered in the direction of Qiblah (khana kaaba), in Saudi Arabia. Each Namaz lasts between five and ten minutes, so the prayers total around 30 minutes per day. It is the first thing to be questioned about on the day of judgment.

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي ۚ رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ

“My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.”
(Surah Ibrahim Ayat: 40)

On the occasion of Ascension, Allah Almighty gave Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) the gift of Namaz. At the first, a gift of total fifty prayers were given, but later five prayers were left. Namaz is the source of God’s Pleasure, the sunnah of the Prophet, the love of the angels, the light of knowledge, the hatred of the real devil of faith, the intercessor between Allah and the servant and like a true friend in the grave until the day of resurrection.

The prayer is obligatory for every adult Muslim. It is the second pillar of Islam. The Holy Quran commands prayers in many places. The call to prayer is called adhan or azan. The one who gives the call to prayer is called a muezzin. The one who offers prayers is called Imam. It is preferable for men to go to the mosque and pray, whereas women should pray in their own homes. namaz vakitleri The rakats of five prayers are; Fajr (four rakats), Zuhar (twelve rakats), Asar (eight rakats), Maghrib (seven rakats), and Isha (seventeen rakats)
