Surah Al Inshiqaq With English Translations

اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْشَقَّتْ(1)

When the sky has split [open] (1)

وَ اَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَ حُقَّتْ(2)

And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] (2)

وَ اِذَا الْاَرْضُ مُدَّتْ(3)

And when the earth has been extended (3)

وَ اَلْقَتْ مَا فِیْهَا وَ تَخَلَّتْ(4)

And has thrown out what is within it and relinquished [it] (4)

وَ اَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَ حُقَّتْﭤ(5)

And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - (5)

یٰۤاَیُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلٰقِیْهِ(6)

O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. (6)

فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِیَ كِتٰبَهٗ بِیَمِیْنِهٖ(7)

So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, (7)

فَسَوْفَ یُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا یَّسِیْرًا(8)

He will be judged with an easy account (8)

وَّ یَنْقَلِبُ اِلٰۤى اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًاﭤ(9)

And return to his people in happiness. (9)

وَ اَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِیَ كِتٰبَهٗ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهٖ(10)

But as for he who is given his record behind his back, (10)

فَسَوْفَ یَدْعُوْا ثُبُوْرًا(11)

He will call out for destruction (11)

وَّ یَصْلٰى سَعِیْرًاﭤ(12)

And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. (12)

اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فِیْۤ اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًاﭤ(13)

Indeed, he used to be among his people in happiness. (13)

اِنَّهٗ ظَنَّ اَنْ لَّنْ یَّحُوْرَ(14)

Indeed, he thought he would never return [to Allah]. (14)

بَلٰۤىۚۛ-اِنَّ رَبَّهٗ كَانَ بِهٖ بَصِیْرًاﭤ(15)

But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever seeing of him. (15)

فَلَاۤ اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ(16)

So I swear by the twilight glow, (16)

وَ الَّیْلِ وَ مَا وَسَقَ(17)

And [by] the night and what it envelops (17)

وَ الْقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَ(18)

And [by] the moon when it is full, (18)

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍﭤ(19)

[That] you will surely experience state after state. (19)

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ(20)

So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe? (20)

وَ اِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَیْهِمُ الْقُرْاٰنُ لَا یَسْجُدُوْنَﭤ(21)

And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? (21)

بَلِ الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا یُكَذِّبُوْنَ(22)

Rather, those who disbelieve deny [it]. (22)

وَ اللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا یُوْعُوْنَ(23)

And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. (23)

فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِیْمٍ(24)

So give them good tidings of a painful punishment, (24)

اِلَّا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَیْرُ مَمْنُوْنٍ(25)

Except those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them is a reward uninterrupted. (25)
