Surah Al Mursalat With English Translations

هَلْ اَتٰى عَلَى الْاِنْسَانِ حِیْنٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ یَكُنْ شَیْــٴًـا مَّذْكُوْرًا(1)

Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not anything mentioned? (1)

اِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ اَمْشَاجٍ ﳓ نَّبْتَلِیْهِ فَجَعَلْنٰهُ سَمِیْعًۢا بَصِیْرًا(2)

Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. (2)

اِنَّا هَدَیْنٰهُ السَّبِیْلَ اِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَّ اِمَّا كَفُوْرًا(3)

Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful. (3)

اِنَّاۤ اَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰفِرِیْنَ سَلٰسِلَاۡ وَ اَغْلٰلًا وَّ سَعِیْرًا(4)

Indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blazing Fire. (4)

اِنَّ الْاَبْرَارَ یَشْرَبُوْنَ مِنْ كَاْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُوْرًا(5)

Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, (5)

عَیْنًا یَّشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللّٰهِ یُفَجِّرُوْنَهَا تَفْجِیْرًا(6)

A spring from which the servants of Allah will drink; they will make it gush forth in force [and abundance]. (6)

یُوْفُوْنَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَ یَخَافُوْنَ یَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهٗ مُسْتَطِیْرًا(7)

They [are those who] fulfill vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. (7)

وَ یُطْعِمُوْنَ الطَّعَامَ عَلٰى حُبِّهٖ مِسْكِیْنًا وَّ یَتِیْمًا وَّ اَسِیْرًا(8)

And they give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8)

اِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللّٰهِ لَا نُرِیْدُ مِنْكُمْ جَزَآءً وَّ لَا شُكُوْرًا(9)

[Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah; we wish not from you reward or gratitude. (9)

اِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنْ رَّبِّنَا یَوْمًا عَبُوْسًا قَمْطَرِیْرًا(10)

Indeed, we fear from our Lord a Day severe in its evil and dreadful [in appearance]." (10)

فَوَقٰىهُمُ اللّٰهُ شَرَّ ذٰلِكَ الْیَوْمِ وَ لَقّٰىهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَّ سُرُوْرًا(11)

So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness. (11)

وَ جَزٰىهُمْ بِمَا صَبَرُوْا جَنَّةً وَّ حَرِیْرًا(12)

And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. (12)

مُّتَّكِـٕیْنَ فِیْهَا عَلَى الْاَرَآىٕكِۚ-لَا یَرَوْنَ فِیْهَا شَمْسًا وَّ لَا زَمْهَرِیْرًا(13)

Reclining therein on adorned couches, they will not see therein [excessive] sun or bitter cold. (13)

وَ دَانِیَةً عَلَیْهِمْ ظِلٰلُهَا وَ ذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوْفُهَا تَذْلِیْلًا(14)

And near above them are its shades, and its [bunches of] fruit are made low in close proximity. (14)

وَ یُطَافُ عَلَیْهِمْ بِاٰنِیَةٍ مِّنْ فِضَّةٍ وَّ اَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَؔارِیْرَاۡ(15)

And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups of crystal - (15)

قَوَؔارِیْرَاۡ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوْهَا تَقْدِیْرًا(16)

Crystal of silver - they will determine its [size] in due measure. (16)

وَ یُسْقَوْنَ فِیْهَا كَاْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنْجَبِیْلًا(17)

And they will be given to drink therein a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of ginger, (17)

عَیْنًا فِیْهَا تُسَمّٰى سَلْسَبِیْلًا(18)

A spring therein called Salsabil. (18)

وَ یَطُوْفُ عَلَیْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُوْنَۚ-اِذَا رَاَیْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنْثُوْرًا(19)

And there will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [scattered] pearls. (19)

وَ اِذَا رَاَیْتَ ثَمَّ رَاَیْتَ نَعِیْمًا وَّ مُلْكًا كَبِیْرًا(20)

And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. (20)

عٰلِیَهُمْ ثِیَابُ سُنْدُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَّ اِسْتَبْرَقٌ٘-وَّ حُلُّوْۤا اَسَاوِرَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍۚ-وَ سَقٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُوْرًا(21)

Upon them will be garments of fine green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink. (21)

اِنَّ هٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءً وَّ كَانَ سَعْیُكُمْ مَّشْكُوْرًا(22)

Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated. (22)

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَیْكَ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَنْزِیْلًا(23)

Indeed, it is We who have sent down to you the Qur'an progressively. (23)

فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَ لَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ اٰثِمًا اَوْ كَفُوْرًا(24)

So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from them a sinner or a disbeliever. (24)

وَ اذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَّ اَصِیْلًا(25)

And mention the name of your Lord [morning] and afternoon. (25)

وَ مِنَ الَّیْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهٗ وَ سَبِّحْهُ لَیْلًا طَوِیْلًا(26)

And during the night prostrate to Him and exalt Him [for a] long [portion of the] night. (26)

اِنَّ هٰۤؤُلَآءِ یُحِبُّوْنَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَ یَذَرُوْنَ وَرَآءَهُمْ یَوْمًا ثَقِیْلًا(27)

Indeed, these [disbelievers] love the immediate and leave behind them a grave Day. (27)

نَحْنُ خَلَقْنٰهُمْ وَ شَدَدْنَاۤ اَسْرَهُمْۚ-وَ اِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَاۤ اَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِیْلًا(28)

It is We who created them and strengthened their forms, and when We will, We can replace them with [others] the likes of them with [complete] replacement. (28)

اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذْكِرَةٌۚ-فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِیْلًا(29)

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. (29)

وَ مَا تَشَآءُوْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ یَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُؕ-اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلِیْمًا حَكِیْمًا(30)

But you do not will except that Allah wills. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise. (30)

یُّدْخِلُ مَنْ یَّشَآءُ فِیْ رَحْمَتِهٖؕ-وَ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ اَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا اَلِیْمًا(31)

He admits whom He wills into His mercy; but the wrongdoers - He has prepared for them a painful punishment. (31)

اِنْطَلِقُوْۤا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذِیْ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ(30)

[Proceed] to a shadow of three columns (30)

لَّا ظَلِیْلٍ وَّ لَا یُغْنِیْ مِنَ اللَّهَبِﭤ(31)

Neither shady nor availing against the flame. (31)

اِنَّهَا تَرْمِیْ بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ(32)

Indeed, it throws sparks as [large as] a fortress, (32)

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌﭤ(33)

As if they were yellowish [black] camels. (33)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(34)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (34)

هٰذَا یَوْمُ لَا یَنْطِقُوْنَ(35)

This is a Day they will not speak, (35)

وَ لَا یُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَیَعْتَذِرُوْنَ(36)

Nor will they be permitted to make excuses. (36)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(37)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (37)

هٰذَا یَوْمُ الْفَصْلِۚ-جَمَعْنٰكُمْ وَ الْاَوَّلِیْنَ(38)

This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and the former peoples. (38)

فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَیْدٌ فَكِیْدُوْنِ(39)

So if you have any plan, carry it out against Me. (39)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(40)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (40)

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ فِیْ ظِلٰلٍ وَّ عُیُوْنٍ(41)

Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs (41)

وَّ فَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا یَشْتَهُوْنَﭤ(42)

And fruits of whatever they desire. (42)

كُلُوْا وَ اشْرَبُوْا هَنِیْٓــٴًـۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ(43)

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." (43)

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِی الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ(44)

Indeed, thus do We reward the doers of good. (44)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(45)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (45)

كُلُوْا وَ تَمَتَّعُوْا قَلِیْلًا اِنَّكُمْ مُّجْرِمُوْنَ(46)

[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little. Indeed, you are criminals. (46)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(47)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (47)

وَ اِذَا قِیْلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوْا لَا یَرْكَعُوْنَ(48)

And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow. (48)

وَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَ(49)

Woe, that Day, to the deniers. (49)

فَبِاَیِّ حَدِیْثٍۭ بَعْدَهٗ یُؤْمِنُوْنَ(50)

Then in what statement after it will they believe? (50)
