Surah At Tariq With English Translations

وَ السَّمَآءِ وَ الطَّارِقِ(1)

By the sky and the night comer - (1)

وَ مَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ(2)

And what can make you know what is the night comer? (2)

النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ(3)

It is the piercing star - (3)

اِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَیْهَا حَافِظٌﭤ(4)

There is no soul but that [has] upon it a protector. (4)

فَلْیَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَﭤ(5)

So let man observe from what he was created. (5)

خُلِقَ مِنْ مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ(6)

He was created from a fluid, ejected, (6)

یَّخْرُ جُ مِنْۢ بَیْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَ التَّرَآىٕبِﭤ(7)

Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. (7)

اِنَّهٗ عَلٰى رَجْعِهٖ لَقَادِرٌﭤ(8)

Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is surely able. (8)

یَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَآىٕرُ(9)

The Day when secrets will be tested, (9)

فَمَا لَهٗ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَّ لَا نَاصِرٍﭤ(10)

Then he will have no power and no helper. (10)

وَ السَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِ(11)

By the sky which returns [rain] (11)

وَ الْاَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِ(12)

And [by] the earth which cracks open [with vegetation], (12)

اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ(13)

Indeed, it [the Qur'an] is a decisive statement, (13)

وَّ مَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِﭤ(14)

And it is not amusement. (14)

اِنَّهُمْ یَكِیْدُوْنَ كَیْدًا(15)

Indeed, they are devising a plan, (15)

وَّ اَكِیْدُ كَیْدًا(16)

And I am devising a plan. (16)

فَمَهِّلِ الْكٰفِرِیْنَ اَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَیْدًا(17)

So allow time for the disbelievers. Give them respite for a little while. (17)
