Pakistani Muslims will probably celebrate Eidul Adha 2025 on Saturday, June 7 based on early assessments from Islamic astronomical experts. Official confirmation of the holiday will only be made through the traditional Islamic moon sighting procedure conducted by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The Emirates Astronomy Society in the UAE estimates that the first day of Zilhajj will start on Wednesday May 28, 2025 because the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah should become visible in evening skies on May 27. The calculation suggests Eidul Adha in the Emirates will celebrate on Friday June 6, 2025.
The moon sightings vary depending on regional conditions and moon visibility levels which impacts the predicted dates for Muslims worldwide.
Eidul Adha stands as one of the two major Islamic celebrations by commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s (A.S.) complete readiness to sacrifice his son by following Allah’s commands. Qurbani marks this occasion for Muslims all over the world through the orderly performance of animal slaughter based on Islamic guidelines that includes goats, sheep, cows or camels.
During this festival the sacrificed meat gets partitioned into three sections serving both loved ones and family members alongside distribution for poverty-stricken persons thus expressing the festival’s message about community support.
