Surah Az Zariyat With English Translations

وَ ٱلذّٰرِیٰتِ ذَرْوًا (1)

By the ḏāriyāt [winds] scattering. (1)

فَالْحٰمِلٰتِ وِقْرًا (2)

And the ḥāmilāt [clouds] bearing a load. (2)

فَالْجٰرِیٰتِ یُسْرًا (3)

And the jāriyāt [ships] sailing easily. (3)

فَالْمُقَسِّمٰتِ اَمْرًا (4)

And the muqassimāt [angels] distributing [every] matter. (4)

اِنَّمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لَصَادِقٌ (5)

Indeed, what you are promised is true. (5)

وَّ اِنَّ ٱلدِّیْنَ لَوَاقِعٌ (6)

And indeed, the recompense will occur. (6)

وَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ (7)

By the sky containing pathways. (7)

اِنَّكُمْ لَفِیْ قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ (8)

Indeed, you are of differing speech. (8)

یُّؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ اُفِكَ (9)

Deluded from it is he who is deluded. (9)

قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرّٰصُوْنَ (10)

Cursed be the liars - (10)

ٱلَّذِیْنَ هُمْ فِیْ غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُوْنَ (11)

Those who are within a глубине [depth] of heedlessness. (11)

یَسْــَٔلُوْنَ اَیَّانَ یَوْمُ ٱلدِّیْنِ (12)

They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" (12)

یَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ یُفْتَنُوْنَ (13)

The Day they will be tried in the Fire, [it will be said], (13)

ذُوْقُوْا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هٰذَا ٱلَّذِیْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ (14)

"Taste your trial; this is what you were impatient for." (14)

اِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِیْنَ فِیْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ عُیُوْنٍ (15)

Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs, (15)

اٰخِذِیْنَ مَآ اٰتٰىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِیْنَ (16)

Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. (16)

كَانُوْا قَلِیْلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّیْلِ مَا یَهْجَعُوْنَ (17)

They used to sleep but little of the night, (17)

وَ بِٱلْاَسْحَارِ هُمْ یَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ (18)

And in the early dawn they would ask forgiveness, (18)

وَ فِیْۤ اَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآىٕلِ وَ ٱلْمَحْرُوْمِ (19)

And in their wealth was a right for the needy and the deprived. (19)

وَ فِی ٱلْاَرْضِ اٰیٰتٌ لِّلْمُوْقِنِیْنَ (20)

And on the earth are signs for those who have certainty, (20)

وَ فِیْۤ اَنْفُسِكُمْ اَفَلَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ (21)

And in yourselves. Then do you not see? (21)

وَ فِی ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَ مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ (22)

And in the heaven is your provision and what you are promised. (22)

فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَ ٱلْاَرْضِ اِنَّهٗ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ اَنَّكُمْ تَنْطِقُوْنَ (23)

Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [surely as] you speak. (23)

هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِیْثُ ضَیْفِ اِبْرٰهِیْمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِیْنَ (24)

Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? (24)

اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلَیْهِ فَقَالُوْا سَلٰمًا قَالَ سَلٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنْكَرُوْنَ (25)

When they entered upon him and said, "[Peace]," he said, "[Peace]," [thinking], "A people unknown." (25)

فَرَاغَ اِلٰۤىٰ اَهْلِهٖ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِیْنٍ (26)

Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf (26)

فَقَرَّبَهٗۤ اِلَیْهِمْ قَالَ اَلَا تَاْكُلُوْنَ (27)

And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" (27)

فَاَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِیْفَةً قَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْ وَ بَشَّرُوْهُ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِیْمٍ (28)

And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. (28)

فَاَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَاَتُهٗ فِیْ صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَ قَالَتْ عَجُوْزٌ عَقِیْمٌ (29)

And his wife approached in крике [astonishment] and struck her face and said, "[I am but] an old woman, barren!" (29)

قَالُوْا كَذٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِیْمُ ٱلْعَلِیْمُ (30)

They said, "Thus has said your Lord. Indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." (30)

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ اَیُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُوْنَ (31)

[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business, O messengers?" (31)

قَالُوْۤا اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِیْنَ (32)

They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals (32)

لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَیْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّنْ طِیْنٍ (33)

To send down upon them stones of глины [clay], (33)

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِیْنَ (34)

Marked by your Lord for the transgressors." (34)

فَاَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ كَانَ فِیْهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ (35)

And We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers. (35)

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِیْهَا غَیْرَ بَیْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِیْنَ (36)

And We found not therein other than one household of Muslims. (36)

وَ تَرَكْنَا فِیْهَآ اٰیَةً لِّلَّذِیْنَ یَخَافُوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْاَلِیْمَ (37)

And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. (37)

وَ فِیْ مُوْسٰۤىٰ اِذْ اَرْسَلْنٰهُ اِلٰىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِیْنٍ (38)

And in Moses [was a sign] when We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority. (38)

فَتَوَلّٰىٰ بِرُكْنِهٖ وَ قَالَ سٰحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌ (39)

But he turned away with his might and said, "[He is but] a sorcerer or a madman." (39)

فَاَخَذْنٰهُ وَ جُنُوْدَهٗ فَنَبَذْنٰهُمْ فِی ٱلْیَمِّ وَ هُوَ مُلِیْمٌ (40)

So We seized him and his soldiers and threw them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. (40)

وَ فِیْ عَادٍ اِذْ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْهِمُ ٱلرِّیْحَ ٱلْعَقِیْمَ (41)

And in 'Aad [was a sign] when We sent upon them the blighting wind. (41)

مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَیْءٍ اَتَتْ عَلَیْهِ اِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِیْمِ (42)

It left nothing that it came upon but that it made it like разрушенный [crumbling] ruin. (42)

وَ فِیْ ثَمُوْدَ اِذْ قِیْلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوْا حَتّٰىٰ حِیْنٍ (43)

And in Thamud [was a sign] when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." (43)

فَعَتَوْا عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصّٰعِقَةُ وَ هُمْ یَنْظُرُوْنَ (44)

But they disobeyed the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. (44)

فَمَا ٱسْتَطَاعُوْا مِنْ قِیَامٍ وَّ مَا كَانُوْا مُنْتَصِرِیْنَ (45)

And they were not able to stand, nor could they defend themselves. (45)

وَ قَوْمَ نُوْحٍ مِّنْ قَبْلُ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمًا فٰسِقِیْنَ (46)

And the people of Noah before [them]. Indeed, they were a people of فسق [defiance]. (46)

وَ ٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَیْنٰهَا بِاَیْىدٍ وَّ اِنَّا لَمُوْسِعُوْنَ (47)

And the heaven We constructed with might, and indeed, We are [its] expanders. (47)

وَ ٱلْاَرْضَ فَرَشْنٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمٰهِدُوْنَ (48)

And the earth We have spread out; and excellent is the preparer. (48)

وَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَیْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَیْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ (49)

And of all things We have created pairs; perhaps you will remember. (49)

فَفِرُّوْۤا اِلَى ٱللّٰهِ اِنِّیْ لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌ (50)

So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. (50)

وَ لَا تَجْعَلُوْا مَعَ ٱللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ اِنِّیْ لَكُمْ مِّنْهُ نَذِیْرٌ مُّبِیْنٌ (51)

And do not make with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. (51)

كَذٰلِكَ مَآ اَتَى ٱلَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنْ رَّسُوْلٍ اِلَّا قَالُوْا سَاحِرٌ اَوْ مَجْنُوْنٌ (52)

Similarly, no messenger came to those before them except that they said, "A sorcerer or a madman." (52)

اَتَوَاصَوْا بِهٖ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَ (53)

Did they advise [each other] to it? Rather, they are a transgressing people. (53)

فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَاۤ اَنْتَ بِمَلُوْمٍ (54)

So turn away from them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed. (54)

وَّ ذَكِّرْ فَاِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرٰىٰ تَنْفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ (55)

And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers. (55)

وَ مَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَ ٱلْاِنْسَ اِلَّا لِیَعْبُدُوْنِ (56)

And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. (56)

مَآ اُرِیْدُ مِنْهُمْ مِّنْ رِّزْقٍ وَّ مَآ اُرِیْدُ اَنْ یُّطْعِمُوْنِ (57)

I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. (57)

اِنَّ ٱللّٰهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِیْنُ (58)

Indeed, Allah is the [great] Provider, the firm possessor of strength. (58)

فَاِنَّ لِلَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ذَنُوْبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوْبِ اَصْحٰبِهِمْ فَلَا یَسْتَعْجِلُوْنِ (59)

And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their companions, so let them not impatiently urge Me. (59)

فَوَیْلٌ لِّلَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ یَّوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِیْ یُوْعَدُوْنَ (60)

So woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised. (60)
