By those [angels] who extract [the souls of the wicked] with violence, (1)
And [by] those who draw out [the souls of the believers] with ease, (2)
And [by] those who glide [through the air] in swift motion, (3)
And [by] those who precede [others] in racing, (4)
And [by] those who manage affairs. (5)
On the Day the first [torment] will convulse [creation] (6)
Followed by the subsequent [torment]. (7)
Hearts, that Day, will be trembling, (8)
Their eyes humbled. (9)
They say, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? (10)
Even if we are crumbling bones?" (11)
They say, "That would then be a losing return." (12)
So indeed, it will be but a single outcry, (13)
And at once they will be upon the surface [of the earth]. (14)
Has there reached you the story of Moses? (15)
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, (16)
[Saying], "Go to Pharaoh, indeed he has transgressed. (17)
And say, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself (18)
And that I guide you to your Lord so you may fear [Him]?'" (19)
And he showed him the greatest sign, (20)
But he denied and disobeyed. (21)
Then he turned his back, striving [against Allah]. (22)
And he gathered [his people] and proclaimed, (23)
Saying, "I am your most high lord." (24)
So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Hereafter and the first [life]. (25)
Indeed in that is a lesson for those who fear [Allah]. (26)
Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? [Allah] constructed it. (27)
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it. (28)
And He darkened its night and brought out its morning light. (29)
And [after that] He spread the earth. (30)
He brought forth from it its water and its pasture. (31)
And the mountains He set firmly, (32)
[As] enjoyment for you and for your grazing livestock. (33)
But when there comes the greatest catastrophe - (34)
The Day man will remember what he strove for, (35)
And Hell will be brought forth for [all] who see - (36)
So as for he who transgressed (37)
And preferred the life of this world, (38)
Then indeed, Hell will be [his] refuge. (39)
But as for he who feared the standing before his Lord and restrained himself from [worldly] desire, (40)
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge. (41)
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour - when is its arrival? (42)
About what [concern] of yours is its mention? (43)
To your Lord belongs [knowledge of] its finality. (44)
You are only a warner for those who fear it. (45)
On the Day they see it, it will be as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof. (46)
